I have found an article called “8 Things Everyone Should Know about Australias wildfire disasters”, and I have found that over the past couple of weeks, almost the whole country of Australia has been covered in wildfires. The outbreak started back in September of 2019 and 27 million acres had been destroyed. Now months after fighting against them, they have finally contained the fires and are on the road to recovery. Many animals and people died during this and many peoples homes were destroyed. Now that they contained the fires, they are focusing on rebuilding homes for all the people that lost them and helping out the wild life. These fires showed how bad global warming is really becoming. No one is truly recognizing that we are killing this planet, Australia has brush fires every year but never this severe. Some animals and plants actually need the fire season to happen to survive in this environment but wildfires are started to become larger and longer which is destroying more than it needs. Now many animals and plants are endangered by how long the country was burning. Global warming isn’t the only thing to blame for the cause of these fires, the weather and other people took part in this. Australia was experiencing highs of over 100 degrees with gusts of winds reaching 40 mph. It also explained that the Southern Annular Mode, a circular belt of wind from the Antarctica, is in negative right now which causes it to push dry conditions to Australia. The amount of smoke it produced too is another issue. Researchers found that the smoke travels around the planet and this was an extreme amount for a long period of time.
