I found some protest signs that say “cut your greed, not our trees”, and I feel like that speaks a lot as to what is happening with deforestation. Companies are greedy for their money so they will do everything in their power to maintain that. There was another sign that said “we are not environmentalists, we are air breathers.” I really liked this one because trees are our source of air. They produce oxygen for us when they get enough energy from the sun and make glucose from the carbon dioxide and water. Without trees we would not exists. Trees create most of earths oxygen and people are taking that a way which is also affecting our planet. Trees take the carbon dioxide out of the air to produce oxygen for us, the less trees we have, the more carbon dioxide there is on earth. This leads to increases of greenhouse gases and global warming. Global warming is a chain effect and trees take part in this. I didn’t find any sources that are completely for deforestation but I talked about how big corporations that produce junk food need the palm oil to produce their products. Big corporations are against stopping deforestation because that would cause them to lose money. I’m not a very creative person so my protest sign would probably say “Save the Trees to save the world” or something simple. Or I would go online and find a cool poster like the one I found saying, “cut your greed, not our trees” or the one about being air breathers.
